Global Peace Foundation Kenya
The Global Peace Foundation (GPF) is an international nonsectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding. Founded in the year 2009, the foundation has its international offices in Washington DC and operates in more than twenty countries. GPF engages and organizes a global network of public and private sector partners who develop community, national and regional peace building models as the foundation for ethical and cohesive societies. To achieve this, GPF convenes and implements development projects and conferences on grassroots peacebuilding, education, entrepreneurship, and youth leadership development.
To carry out its mandate in Kenya, the foundation has worked with various partners such as the UN in Kenya, IGAD, IBM, Google, Oracle, Andela, Airtel, the Standard Group, Cemastea, NCIC, Parliament of Kenya, the Senate and other state and non-state actors. As a result of our work with the youth, the Global Peace Foundation Kenya has received several accolades including a Certificate of Commendation from the United Nations Office in Kenya for outstanding efforts to promote a culture of service among youth in Kenya. In 2019, we received a special consultative status with the United Nations Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC). GPF contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals and other agenda items agreed on by the UN member nations. In its efforts to contribute to the Kenya government’s Vision 2030 and the Big4 Agenda, the Global Peace Foundation partners with the Presidential Digitalent Programme and the ICT Authority to mentor the youth with the objective of enhancing their employability.
