Nairobi, Kenya – 12 January, 2026 – Global Peace Foundation – Kenya hosted Global Peace Women for a consultative planning meeting aimed at laying the groundwork for the upcoming International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 celebrations.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the two organizations as they prepare to jointly host the IWD event under the theme “Give to Gain.” The theme emphasizes the transformative power of generosity, solidarity, and shared responsibility in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls across communities.
Key areas of discussion included the proposed event date of 6th March 2026, potential high-impact invitees, strategic partners, and preliminary considerations for the event venue, which is yet to be finalized. Participants also explored how the event can meaningfully engage stakeholders and amplify conversations around women’s leadership, inclusion, and social impact.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to convene a follow-up session to provide clarity on the way forward and finalize outstanding arrangements. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 15th January 2026, at the GPF Kenya office, and will focus on confirming decisions made, refining roles, and ensuring strong alignment among partners.
