Global Peace Foundation Kenya, through its Environment Program Manager, Mr. Japheth Ouda, in partnership with the Chandaria Foundation, is pleased to share positive progress at the 19th Chandaria Tree Nursery located at Matuga Girls High School in Kwale County, which is now scheduled for official launch soon.
The establishment of this tree nursery reflects a continued commitment to environmental conservation, climate action, and youth-led sustainability initiatives. Once launched, the nursery will serve as a hub for tree propagation, environmental education, and community engagement, empowering students to take active roles in restoring ecosystems and promoting environmental stewardship.
Matuga Girls High School stands as a strategic partner in this initiative, offering an enabling environment where young women can lead climate action efforts while gaining practical skills in conservation, leadership, and sustainable development. The project aligns with Global Peace Foundation’s broader mission of nurturing values-based leadership and fostering a sense of shared responsibility for people and the planet.
As preparations progress toward the launch, Global Peace Foundation Kenya commends all partners, school leadership, and students involved for their dedication and collaboration. This milestone further strengthens the growing network of Chandaria Tree Nurseries across the country, contributing meaningfully to Kenya’s environmental resilience and long-term peacebuilding efforts.
