LEAP Hubs Students at the scale Kenya Forum

Global Peace Foundation Kenya participated in the Scale Kenya Forum that was held under the theme “Youth Entrepreneurship for Social Impact.” Organised by the East Africa Civil Society Initiative, forum is an initiative by The Agakhan Foundation, East African Institute and iHub. It seeks to encourage dialogue around the role of public and private sectors by featuring the stories of local young entrepreneurs, plenary and panel sessions, exhibitions, networking and training opportunities.

GPF’s Leap Hub students from Moi Forces Academy and Kariobangi North Girls’ Secondary School got the chance to exhibit their innovations. Moi Forces Academy showcased “Virtual Clothe” platform that allows online clothes shoppers to virtually try clothes. Virtual Clothe is an innovation sought to solve the issue of size difference in the clothing industry across different countries. On the other hand, Kariobangi North Girls High School presented the “Medics App”, an application that assists patients to book for appointments with specialized doctors.

The forum garnered participation from various individuals among them: Dr Alex Awiti, Director, East Africa Institute, Mr. Graham Wood, Chief Executive Officer, the Agakhan Foundation East Africa, Ms. Mary Gicharu, Managing director at iHub and Mr Daniel Juma, the Executive Director, Global Peace Foundation Kenya among others.
