Mathare North, Nairobi | June 5, 2025

In celebration of World Environment Day, our Environment Manager Mr. Japheth Ouda joined hands with Green Dada, Mathare North Youth, Najimudu Initiative, and Mathare North Primary School for a vibrant community clean-up and tree-planting activity.
Together, we planted 21 fruit trees within the school, sparking conversations and actions around sanitation, social cohesion, and environmental responsibility. This monthly initiative doesn’t stop here — it is part of a larger vision to promote waste segregation at the household level and unlock green livelihood opportunities for youth through recycling.
Participants also engaged with the 7Rs of sustainability — Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Regift, Recycle — embracing new habits for a cleaner, greener Mathare.
Let’s continue to transform waste into value, nurture our communities, and stand united in protecting our planet.
