Global Peace Foundation Kenya is set to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 on 6 March 2026 at Kenyatta University, bringing together students, youth leaders, civil society actors, and partners in a powerful dialogue advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Held under the theme “Generosity for Gender Equality: Give and Gain,” the forum seeks to inspire collective responsibility and action toward building inclusive societies where women and girls are empowered to thrive. The engagement aligns with GPF’s vision of nurturing values-based leadership and reinforcing the principle of One Family Under God.
The event will convene an estimated 350 participants, including:
- University club leaders
- Students from Kenyatta University and other institutions
- Peace and Development Organizations (PODs)
- Civil society representatives and youth advocates
Participants are expected to arrive by 1:00 PM, with the program officially commencing at 2:00 PM.
Empowering Voices and Leadership
The IWD 2026 forum will feature distinguished speakers and thought leaders, including:

- Daniel Juma Omondi, Africa Regional Director, Global Peace Foundation
The discussion will focus on practical pathways to empower women and girls, strengthen youth leadership, and promote gender-responsive collaboration across institutions.
Partnerships and Coordination
GPF Kenya is working closely with Kenyatta University, student leaders, and gender-focused advocates to ensure meaningful participation and impact. Preparations include collaborative design of event materials, outreach coordination, and institutional engagement through formal communication with the university.
