Our Work.

ENVIRONMENT

In addition to the Million Tree Growing campaign, the Environment program also includes other projects such as the Waste Management project in Kariobangi and the Nairobi River Peace initiative. These projects are aimed at promoting sustainable waste management practices and improving the health of the Nairobi River ecosystem, respectively.

The Environment program is a key initiative of the Global Peace Foundation Kenya that is focused on promoting environmental conservation and sustainability in the country. The program is centered around the Million Tree Growing campaign, which aims to enhance Kenya’s forest cover through tree planting activities in various regions. This campaign is implemented in partnership with the Chandaria Foundation, Standard Media Group, UNICAF, Kenya Forest Service, and other key stakeholders in the environmental conservation sector.

As part of the Million Tree Growing campaign, the Global Peace Foundation Kenya establishes tree nurseries in schools and universities to provide seedlings for reforestation. So far, the organization has established tree nurseries in Starehe Girls Center, Nairobi Primary School, Kaptagat High School, Daystar University, and other institutions of learning. This approach not only promotes environmental conservation but also provides an opportunity for young people to learn about the importance of environmental sustainability and take an active role in promoting it.
