Nairobi, Kenya – May 3, 2025 – The Global Peace Foundation (GPF) has announced the appointment of it’s Kenya Country Director Mr. Daniel Juma Omondi as the new Regional Representative for Africa, effective 1st May 2025.
In a 3rd May 2025 circular sent from its Washington office by the organisation’s Senior Vice President Mr. Aya Goto, Mr. Omondi will oversee GPF field affiliates and initiatives across the continent while continuing his role as Country Director for GPF Kenya. This appointment is expected to significantly advance the organisation’s strategic development of peacebuilding efforts in the region.
Accepting his new role, Mr. Omondi expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the GPF leadership, stating, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Global Peace Foundation Chairman, Dr. Hyun Jin Preston, and President Jim Flynn for their trust in me for this vital role.” He said its is a privilege to oversee the GPF field affiliates and initiatives across Africa and promised to work collaboratively with the organisation’s team to advance its peacebuilding mission in Africa.
Mr. Omondi says he will work with African governments, civil societies multilateral organisations and religious leaders across the continent to elevate the organisation’s valuesbased peacebuilding in the continent. As part of his immediate agenda, Mr. Omondi is preparing for the upcoming 2nd Annual Family Festival, scheduled for May 15, 2025, at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Uganda. This event, hosted in collaboration with the Government of Uganda, will focus on the theme: “United as One Family under God for Socio-economic Transformation and Achievement of the African Renaissance.”
This appointment comes barely a week after Mr. Omondi was named one of the top 50 CEOs in Kenya by Africapitol.
